Welcome, friends. Here's a little about me...

There are a lot of things in the world. I like the following:

pistachio cupcakes with lemon buttercream and toasted coconut, in this case...
 but i really love baking period. brownies, cupcakes, granola bars...sometimes healthy..other times not
i just love to bake for the art and craft aspect of it. the deliciousness is another bonus :)

Frozen Yogurt. 
one of the few mass-produced prepared 'junk food' indulgences that i actually enjoy.
also, the fact that i work in an adorable frozen yogurt shop does not help...

 a main pass-time / hobby in my life. and to be honest, i wouldn't have it any other way.
i chose pre-health as part of my undergrad last semester (i will be a sophomore in fall) knowing the amount of work and time i'd have to put into the courses. but i'd rather be challenged than bored. homework = something to do :) even if i complain about it nonstop.


and spoiling said dog... this case, with tart frozen yogurt with cheerios.

Delicious, Healthy Food.
  like fruit. you know that saying, that however many out of however many people don't get enough servings of fresh fruit or veggies per day? yeah...i def am not in that category.
i have to run to the grocery store several times a week for produce...
so what if i eat, like, 8 servings of fruit and 8 servings of veggies a day?
what can i say, i've always been a produce-a-holic.
blame my mother for feeding me right when i was a baby :D

Reading Tons of Nerdy Psychopathology Books.
what can i say? i've found my passion... 
i'm an aspiring child & adolescent psychiatrist and can't get enough psychopathology in my life!
it just fascinates me.
speaking of things I can't get enough of...

Eating Copious Amounts of Greek Yogurt.
especially Fage, if I have a choice.
this was my fridge this morning, and after i snapped this (terrible) photo I thought to myself,
hmmm i'm getting low...need to run to Target soon
normal thought for 10+ normal servings in my fridge?
probably not...I just eat it like it's my job. 
I can honestly eat one of the 'big' tubs in one sitting and still want more.
and don't get me started in all the ways I like to spice it up..djakfl;dsaf;ndksaljfd,safmds,a.f
okay must stop changing subjects and being a clusterf#&*.
which brings me to my next point, and title of my blog..

Root Vegetables.
sweet potatoes...DO ME.
beets...DO ME.
parsnip, squash...djaskfl;dsfhdjKLHDSK 
I think I like them, maybe a little too much...
feel free to judge

Good Cookbooks.
i love paging through them in my spare time, because I'm just that exciting.
above pictures my two main loves...healthy vegetarian food and desserts.
desserts = my main indulgence
i've never really cared for fried food
and junk food just doesn't do it for me either 
people think i'm strange for passing up chips and French fries for apples and greek yogurt but I honestly just prefer it.
